Innovative strategies next-generation sectors Lower Austria – the home of high tech.

Many technology-oriented companies are already benefiting from Lower Austria’s advantages as an innovative high-tech center in Europe. Institutions globally recognized for their success in industry-related research are located in Lower Austria. In order to establish itself even more firmly as a home for next-generation sectors, Lower Austria has pursued a strategy of creating so-called Technopols to meet international standards.

Technopols are combined technological and business centers specifically established around recognized educational and research institutes. The Technopol Program of Lower Austria is a trendsetter in implementing the linkage of education/training, research and business. Lower Austria’s three Technopols are already setting international standards: Technopol Krems in the fields of biotech and regenerative medicine, Technopol Tulln in agrobiotechnology and environmental biotechnology, Technopol Wiener Neustadt in materials, process and chemical engineering, medical technology, sensory technology and actuators and surfaces.

Through the Technopol Program – managed by ecoplus for Lower Austria – existing and future companies are being supported in entering into successful research cooperations with leading R&D institutions in the province.
