Technopol Krems
In Krems, focus lies on the area of biomedicine (tissue engineering, cell therapy, extracorporeal blood purification, building physics -energy-systems, IKT visual computing) and health services. The biomedical manufacturing facilities and high-tech laboratories are in keeping with the highest Austrian and EU production standards.
In the past five years, the state of Lower Austria has invested approximately €17million in this location, whereby special priority has been given to the construction of physical infrastructure. As a result, around 90 high-caliber positions in research and development have been created.
There are two main locations at Technopol Krems:
- The Campus Krems (located in the Karl Dorrekstrasse) with the Danube University Krems, IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, the Austrian Film Gallery, the Educational Society of Lower Austria, Kolpinghaus, and the innovation and start-up center Accent;
- The Bio Science Park Krems (Magnesitstrasse), where biotech companies and other start-ups from various branches have settled. Also located here are the RIZ Nord (Regional Innovation Center North), the Biotechnology Center Krems, and the ecoplus – Technopol Krems offices.
