In Tulln, intensive research is being carried out both in the areas of agro- and environmental biotechnology for the development of biotechnical processes for plants, animals and the environment. The Technopol Tulln encompasses the IFA Tulln (intermural research center for agrobiotechnology), the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences – Tulln Campus, Technopark Tulln, Technology Center Tulln, Zuckerforschung Tulln, and the city of Tulln.
With its Biotechnical Processes degree program, the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences at Tulln offers the required expert training in the area. The Technopark Tulln offers fully-equipped properties for company resettlement. Since 2005, office and laboratory space have been available at the Technology Center Tulln for relocation, spin-offs and start-ups. There are over 180 highly-qualified researchers working at this location.
