Lower Austria's hotel guests demand quality – and Lower Austria promotes it.
As set down in the Tourism Timetable 2010: the tourism land of Lower Austria is banking on a policy of establishing Lower Austria in Austria and Eastern and Central Europe as the land where one can enjoy life and live with gusto. This vision is reflected in the new, exciting and clearly positioned hotel package. And Lower Austria's visitors are already showing their appreciation: the increase in the number of overnight stays is evidence that the Lower Austrian hotel strategy is right on the mark. Many hotels have become leading tourism companies of the region: model operations include Althof Retz, the Loisium Hotel in Langenlois, Panhans in Semmering, the Therme Laa Hotel & Spa and the Hotel Schloss in Waidhofen/Ybbs.
Working jointly with the Lower Austrian Department of Tourism in the provincial government, Regional support assists most of all new accommodation operators with a clear thematic focus. This assistance philosophy is exhibited clearly in conjunction with the Hotel Loisium project. With this project, the initial direction taken with the Loisium World of Wine was developed further by the construction of a 4-star lifestyle hotel, designed by renowned architect Steven Holl, with 164 beds and exclusive seminar and spa areas.
An additional example of effective assistance strategy is Hotel Schloss on the Iron Road in Waidhofen/Ybbs. This 4-star hotel with over 168 rooms is geared toward seminars and conferences yet also features an attractive health & wellness offer as well as first-class dining facilities. Over 15,000 overnight stays and 45 places of employment underline the importance of the hotel project for the regional economy. These types of projects are evidence of the sustained, high-level of investment activity on the part of the Lower Austrian tourism industry in the name of quality tourism and enhancement of existing strengths. These leading projects are expertly assisted by ecoplus. |
