Regional Support

Under the Lower Austrian Regional Development Program, financial assistance is offered to projects and initiatives providing significant regional economic benefits, particularly in economically and structurally underdeveloped regions.

The range of assistance is broad: infrastructure investments in the industrial-manufacturing sector have just as good an opportunity for assistance as tourism, cultural and social projects. The key factor is whether the investment provides significant economic stimulus for the region. ecoplus offers a full range of services in support of your application.

Support services encompass the promotion of investments and assistance within the framework of regional services. They correspond to the following three fields of activity:

Field of activity – Initiative Projects:
ecoplus initiates, supports and assists – utilizing EU means wherever possible – in all matters relating to regional initiative projects in Lower Austria. Here the regional interconnectedness of leading operations and regions plays an important role. Exemplary in this regard are projects such as Therme Laa Hotel & Spa and the development of ideal environments for cycling regions.

Field of activity – Initiative Themes:
With regional support, select priorities for regional development are processed, projects are set in motion, and concrete investment projects are supported. Examples of activities in this field include the themes cycling tourism, natural parks and trade fairs.

Field of activity – Region:
In order to support the development of the region in a targeted way, strategic developmental concepts are created and realized jointly with regional decision makers and partner institutions. Examples of these types of activities include the Wachau Masterplan and the implementation of the Leader program.

Support Processing
Processing of regional support projects is handled by the respective department of the Lower Austria provincial government in close cooperation with ecoplus. Once a favorable decision has been made by the Lower Austria provincial government, an assistance agreement is drafted which stipulates all relevant support conditions but also all responsibilities of the project backer. The audit of balanced original documents is carried out by ecoplus, which also commissions the paying out of support means (where applicable, also EU means). For this activity, a standardized account statement as well as a current project report must be submitted. As a rule, an on-site check is carried out for all investment projects in order to verify that the support means have been used for the designated purpose.
