About us
Unlike other existing cluster initiatives, the Logistics Cluster of Lower Austria is not limited to any one sector. The cluster's target group is all companies who must solve special logistics challenges. Thus the Logistics Cluster is a cross-sector initiative serving both sides: shippers and logistics service providers. The Logistics Cluster also collaborates closely with Lower Austrian clusters from other economic sectors.
Priority activities in Lower Austria include
- The promotion of the logistics competence of companies
An important strategic aim of the Logistics Cluster is to position Lower Austria early on and aggressively as a logistics location of the future. This is not only about achieving the ambitious climate protection goals of the province; even more important is enhancing the competitiveness of the Lower Austrian economy.
Companies should be informed of the growing significance of logistics but also sensitized to the potential savings which can be realized through logistics – an issue which is of significance to practically every sector. Qualification measures involving specific logistics topics will on the one hand raise awareness and on the other, help save on costs.
- The bundling of transports and the reduction in the number of empty runs
Especially in the areas of packaged goods and partial loads, the bundling of loads can lead to huge potential savings. Fewer deliveries translate into reduced transport costs for companies but also less traffic on Lower Austria's roads. What is required is innovative cooperation in the development of pioneering and sustainable concepts and solutions.
- Planning More Efficient and Intelligent Traffic & Transportation
Boasting an economic zone with over 16 million people within a radius of only 300 km, Lower Austria's geographic location has made it a first-rate logistics hub – on both national and international levels. Intelligent planning, forward-looking management and sustainable concepts are needed. Economic growth and quality of life do not need to be mutually exclusive, but can proceed hand in hand. Sustainable traffic and transportation planning supported by sufficient and effectively utilized means can save costs – and preserve the environment as well.
