Technology Centers
Since 2004, areas of "technology-oriented business" have been created at the Technopols in Krems, Tulln and Wiener Neustadt, and the newly erected, modern technology centers form their core. As the business agency of Lower Austria, ecoplus has been entrusted with the development of these technology-oriented business locations. Thus it is of extreme importance to continually modernize infrastructure in order to offer researchers and scientists a modern and fertile environment.
One prime example is the ongoing expansion of all technology centers in the previous months and years. Since 1999, more than €69 million has been invested in the expansion and refurbishment of the four technology centers, creating 630 jobs and more than 21,700 m2 (approx. 231,700 sq. feet) office and laboratory space. Demand and occupancy rates have been increasing for these special properties and GMP-compliant laboratories (high-tech labs corresponding to highest standards).
