From a policy perspective innovation means not only creating totally new technologies, but also increasingly cross-linking existing industries in the hopes of creating new paths of development – within regions, between regions and beyond national boundaries.
The Interreg IVC project ClusteriX aimed to enable regional authorities to identify, analyze and explore the potential of strategic future cluster development through the exchange of experiences and best practices between 9 partners from 8 different countries. The overall objective of CLUSTERIX was thus to increase the competitiveness of European regions and their innovation potential through the improvement and strategic re-orientation of cluster policies towards smart specialization.
ClusteriX was implemented through the INTERREG IV C Programme co-financed by ERDF. The ClusteriX project ended in December 2014.
