“LAUNCH” – EXPANSION WORKSHOP IN WIENER NEUSTADT:
LOWER AUSTRIA AS A SPRINGBOARD FOR COMPANIES FROM EASTERN EUROPE

Under the title “LAUNCH,” a high-profile expansion workshop took place on October 22 at the Innovation Lab of the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt – organized by ecoplus. The Business Agency of Lower Austria. The aim of the event was to present Lower Austria as an attractive business location for companies from Eastern Europe – both to facilitate their entry into the German-speaking market and to support companies already based there in their further development.

The program offered participants an overview of market opportunities, funding opportunities, and location advantages in Lower Austria. In her keynote speech, Doris Hanzl-Weiss, economic expert at the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw), highlighted the relations between Austria and the Visegrád countries and provided insights into current trends: “Economic relations between Austria and the Visegrád countries are characterized by extensive interdependence in both trade and foreign direct investment. Recent geopolitical uncertainties have once again demonstrated how important these strong regional ties are for strengthening economic resilience and promoting growth in Central Europe.”

In a panel discussion, Andreas Kirisits (Head of ecoplus Investor Services), Veronika Yorumez (CapTTict Project Manager SAPIE), Jaromír Opatrný (CEO Well Pack), and Peter Schindler (CEO TreasureX AXIÁL) discussed the opportunities and challenges for Eastern European companies in Lower Austria.

INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS

The program also included interactive workshops by the Austrian Business Agency (Austria as a business location. Subsidies, framework conditions), accent  (Successful growth. Incubation, technology networking), ARTUS (Safe and fast start-ups. Tax system, concrete start-up steps), and ecoplus (Finding the right location).

One highlight was a tour of the Wiener Neustadt Technology and Research Center (in german, for information in englisch see Technopol), home to research and technology-oriented institutions in the fields of medical and materials technologies. Participants also gained insights into MedAustron, an internationally recognized cancer treatment and research center.

As the Business Agency of Lower Austria, ecoplus supports international companies with a wide range of services. “Lower Austria is the ideal springboard for companies from our neighboring countries into the German-speaking region. We offer customized free services for companies looking to expand into Lower Austria – from getting to know the market for the first time to entering the market. But companies that are already represented in Lower Austria can also benefit from our services,” says ecoplus Managing Director Helmut Miernicki.
